How will you vote in 2008?

I’ve started a new blog which I am shamelessly recommending to all my readers. I would like to invite all of you to VoteNow2008. Due to the short amount of time before the US Presidential Election I am heavily trying to drive as many visitors to the site in attempt to gather a large number of voters for a good result. Below is a summary for the site.

Vote Now 2008 is an ambitious attempt to poll online visitors on how they will vote in the 2008 US Presidential Election. Visitors to the blog are asked to participate by anonymously entering their vote under their state of residence. There is also a separate section for international visitors to voice their opinion.

Last June Cooliris updated their PicLens tool for Firefox users.

The latest version of PicLens 1.7 for Firefox is now available for download as add-on. If you enjoy looking up videos or pictures on such sites as flickr, google, yahoo, and youtube, this is a must own add-on for the Firefox browser.

Using the add-on is simple and very cool. By simply clicking on the PicLens icon, Firefox users will be brought to a new 3D screen that provides a gallery of pictures and videos on a subject of interest. If you’re interested in butterflies for example, go to the search button choose a site’s library such as flickr.com or youtube.com and PicLens will find all videos and photos that fit that discription on the host site. All qualifying items are then displayed onto your screen with crisp small or large thumbnails that you can scroll through using PicLens’ 3D gallery. If you see something you like, simply click on the thumbnail and the item will either enlarge if it’s a picture or play if it’s a video right on the PicLens screen without even visiting the host site.

PicLens also has a “Discover” button that covers a host of other web items, such as news, photos, videos and even movies.

PollDaddy does exactly that. This free service gives bloggers to be a little more interactive with their readers. Create a poll or survey on this site and then link it to your blog. Readers will be able to see and answer the poll right from your blog. Plus anyone who answers the poll will be given a consensus on the results.

A tool such as this could make reading a little bit more fun and may keep readers coming back to either answer new polls or just see updated results to how other readers voted.  Plus to make things even easier to set up on your blog, Polldaddy already offers some short codes specifically for WordPress bloggers.  Of course Polldaddy also works on virtually any blog host site.

As a photo enthusiast, I found Earth Album to have a wonderful collection of images from all around the world.
